HARIMAU SILAT: One of the most famous styles of PENTJAK SILAT. The fighter imitates a tiger by crawling on all fours to stalk his opponent. Suddenly, he will spring into action with strong kicks and jumps. One explanantion of the very low posture adopted in this style is that because the rain forests of Indonesia are often muddy, it is easy to slip in a fight unless the center of gravity is as low to the ground as possible.
